NATIONALDAGEN idag!! ..so what!?
June 2, it's national day in Italy, it's the birth of the
italian republic .. i open the webpage of the main italian
newspapers and .. of course, big military parade in Rome
(as nice as expensive) and big discussions and controversies
among politics parties about .. well .. about!? ..it doesn't
matter, it's just for discussing, just useless polemics ..
June 6, it's national day in Sweden .. i open the webpage
of the main swedish newspapers and .. well, it's nothing!!!
i go to page two, nothing!! only at page three you find something
.. ok, it's true, unlike other countries, which have anniversaries
of independence or revolutions to commemorate, Sweden has
never been occupied and has never got rid of its monarchy ..
but Swedes appeared to me so proud of their country, many
houses have swedish flag outside (not only after the football
World Cup, all year long!), but in reality today people don't
really matter, they just know they have day off, good day for
go to the lake and barbecue .. only for some immigrants today
is going to be an important day, cause they will get swedish
citizenship in this date (this will make a huge difference for them!)
.. the big institutional celebration!? in Stockholm the royal
family will open the doors of their palace, a way of say: "Wanna
come in?? just pass.." .. ok, i know what you are thinking .. lack
of national identity, lack of history .. yeah, maybe it's true, but
sorry, for me it's much nicer than hours of military parade and days
of aimless politic polemics ..

Watch this face, it's a clear face!
.. even if i am in Sweden, country in which to be professional
cyclist means moving to Denmark or other countries where
the winter is shorter..even if all the news about doping in this
sport make me think i have been fooled for many years by cyclists..
.. i cannot lose my passion for cycling!! and so in these days i
was always following the stages of Giro d'Italia (with a laptop
and internet everything is possible!) .. well today it's a great
day because today Marzio Bruseghin won .. just watch his face
and you find out by yourself why i am so happy ..
in a cycling where doping and team strategies seem to be
the only way to win, sometimes you can still have a nice
surprise .. today Marzio Bruseghin after 15 years of being a
domestique had his occasion .. he has worked hard for many
years just for the happiness to see his team leader winning
.. but not today, today he had his chance and didn't miss it!
he was born quite near my hometown .. he breeds donkeys
(his supporters always wear mokeys ears!) and loves the
nature .. he is what you call a "simple guy"..
.. today after passing the final line he was interviewed by
the national tv .. the first words he pronounced (with a very
strong dialect accent!) were .. " i want to thank Marco's
grandmother .. she told me not to shave my beard if i wanted
to win the stage today.." .. simply lovely :-)
unluckily cycling is full of "cunning" people that don't need
to have a life of sacrifice to win .. unfortunately simple
guys like Bruseghin are very few.

Poem of the day ..
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of liyng in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are youg and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run,you missed the starting gun
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way,but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
plans that either come to naught or half page of scribbled lines
hanging on in quite desperation is the english way
The time is gone the song is over, thought i'd something more to say.
.. some don't understand this song and says it's sad and pessimistic,
some others do and catch the good message in it ..
don't waste your time, there won't always be a tomorrow!

Who is hiding in the shadow!?
!! READ CAREFULLY BEFORE WATCH !!
this post contains a high number of hidden meanings
Nothing more to add ... just that time in Erasmus flys away
too fast, too f***in fast!! this was almost 2 months ago, 60
days flown away just like nothing..
anyway, Erasmus will come to an end, but CAVRA will live forever :)

I LOVE KOPPARSTADEN!!
It's already quite hard by itself having breakfast at 7
o' clock cause i have to run to the university for my
lesson .. but Kopparstaden, my housing-company,
knows how to make my day even harder ..
i just finished to fry my eggs and to toast the bread,
a lovely smell of "english" breakfast is spreading
all over the kitchen .. i am ready to sit down and
enjoy this wonderful food ..when, all of a sudden, 3
K-MAN (Kopparstaden employees) rush into my
kitchen carrying a strange machine ..
.. "they are gonna fix our stopped sink, that's good" ..
i think in my mind .. yes, it's good .. very very good ..
what is not good is the smell of SH** that spread all
over when they started to use that machine ..
.. not really the best beginning of a day :)
p.s. after all, it hasn't been such a bad day!

Uppsala, Uppsala!!
Running to Uppsala right now..
tonight it's Valborg .. it's gonna be big celebrations all
around Sweden for the beginning of the spring ..
the best parties are of course in university cities ..
.. and we are going to the biggest one in Sweden :D
we planned perfectly all the details:
- we got the studentkort for entering Uppsala pubs
- we have been to Systembolaget
What else!? ah, we forgot the accomodation .. but
hopefully we won't need it!

What a nice surprise!
How can you transform a boring pub filled with old people
into an indie club full of young and stylish Swedes!? Well, i
don't know..but somebody did! [www.klubbphoneme.com]
we went there last night, Kristian Anttila was playing on the
stage..i was a bit skeptic, cause Marianns usually is such
a bad place, but the last wednesday of every month it
changes completely..
..after all it's not so difficult..you only need a live concert,
a good dj set before and after the show (after months of
Harry's music was such a big shock for my ears)..big
beer for 50sek ..and interesting people..
..like a beautiful singer that wants to go to France but
meanwhile she is studying theater (is it possible in Falun!?)
..or like two crazy guys from a band called Sober Inflows
[http://www.myspace.com/soberinflows] ..one is cousin
with somebody from Mando Diao..and somebody else
bought Sugarplum Fairy drum set..at least..i think so
cause i have "foggy" memories..but it was fuckin funny!
i am just wondering where all the nice people of the last
night usually go out..cause i don't think they just go out once
a month!!.. well, this is another big mistery of Sweden :)
anyway, nice to break at least once the Harry's
dictatorship.. jättebra Tati!

Time to remember
Nothing about Sweden today: the guy in the blue t-shirt
is not swedish, the landscape behind us in not Sweden..
..why this pictures then!? well, he is my biggest friend
and today it's his birthday :)
we took this pictures in the summer of 2005, it's not that
distant if you think, but for me seems ages ago..at that time
i never thought i would have come to Sweden for one
year and i am sure he never thought he would have travelled so
much around Europe for his job..
..he is in Barcelona right now, i am still in Sweden..thousands
of kilometers far away, everyone following his own dream..
but what is strange, is that maybe for the first time
(we know each other since birth!) i remembered
his birthday on time, curious :)
BUON COMPLEANNO GIACOMO!
